The offices for General Motors are a 2,500 m2 project located in Bogotá. The concept we used is “CASA TECH” (TECH HOUSE). The intention is to make people who return to the offices feel at home during the week, with accents characteristic of the brand representing technology and innovation. The color palette used in the project is gray, blue and terracotta tones combined with wood, metal structures and carpets that give harmony to the space.
Its distribution is carried out along three consecutive floors (12, 14 and 15, the 13th floor does not exist in the CAPITAL TOWERS Tower 2 building) where the open office space predominates in the center and the directors and managers positions are on the façade. Inside and framing the circulations is a core of collaborative spaces (stands), support spaces such as phone booths, copy points, lockers and transition spaces. The main cafeterias are located on the 12th and 15th floors, while on the 14th there is a coffee shop. There are several formal and informal meeting rooms on the three floors, some with flexible furniture and folding partitions, others with traditional layouts. The workstations are itinerant, only functional zoning is proposed by work teams.
The main challenges we faced when designing General Motors were the timelines. As it is a fast track project, deliveries are quick, we must ensure the specifications and requirements are in stock and be very assertive when making decisions about the look and finishes. Another challenge was the change in the types of directors and managers after the preliminary project was approved, as it involved not only furniture but other specialties such as lighting, voice and data. We counted on the collaboration of the entire team to meet the deadlines and present a solid delivery.
