Connecta 80’s amenities are located in Bogotá at Cr. 72 # 81b-13 within an office complex consisting of three towers, opposite the Titan Plaza shopping centre. The client wanted this space to be an integrative centre where the people who would occupy the future offices could enjoy a place that encouraged concentration and adaptability without losing that feeling of personal refuge characterised by textures, colours, smells and shapes. We developed two concepts, and the one chosen was called GUARIDA ITINERANTE (ITINERANT HIDEOUT), where users could explore their identity from a position of individualism, allowing them to imagine, feel confident and at one with the place.
For the architectural layout, we proposed organic circulation and open, mobile spaces that would allow users to adjust the space to their needs. The colour palette and materials focused on the search for a space that would generate warmth and tranquillity and could be adapted to any taste and personality. The layout was designed so that the user could develop the space themselves. Organic shapes make a space flexible to the eye, and we wanted the same to happen functionally. The finishes had to frame areas, but also create an identity, so a warm palette was chosen, but at the same time, the vegetation gave it a touch of tranquillity.
Initially, the stages of knowledge, basic outline and preliminary design were developed smoothly and the relationship with the client was pleasant. From the last stage, when the construction plans began to be developed, we encountered many challenges, as a construction plan must show the details of how things are done. At first, it was complex because it was designed without construction in mind, and in our eagerness to deliver, we did not stop to look at this. In the end, teamwork and asking questions were the key. Researching the details rather than the general helped us to complete the stage successfully.
